Zz is for Zoomie

Today we had Zoomie come and visit our classroom for Zz week!
Cara's mum walked Zoomie to school to visit us this morning and Cara talked to us about looking after Zoomie and what she does to care for him.
The children who wanted to pat Zoomie were able to do so. Then we had a class photo with Zoomie.

Thanks Cara and Cara's Mum for letting us meet Zoomie today!

Yy week

The children had a Yellow Day today with Mrs Hobbs. We had the letter "Yy" for our letter of the week.

Clown Cat

Writing

Today the children enjoyed writing about this photo. We had a good laugh at the man riding the chicken. We will be doing some more funny writing so keep an eye out as I will publish some work in the next week!

Letter to a 5 year old on her first day of school

Mittens for Winter

Today the children received a pair of mittens each from the Mid Canterbury Red Cross Volunteers! Each child got a pair to keep. The Mid Canterbury Red Cross Volunteers kindly made and donated the mittens for the 5 year old children in our school. The children were so super excited to get their mittens, most of them wore them after school!

Assembly Sharing and Prayers

Well done to all the wonderful children who did the prayers and the sharing in assembly on Friday. Every child from Room One had a role to play in the sharing and prayers which was really cool. Thanks to all the parents who came and watched and supported Room One, the teachers were extremely impressed with the number of parents we had!

Wheels Lunchtime

Last week we had a Wheels Lunchtime where the students were able to bring their wheels to school and have a play on the back court. They had so much fun! Some were so fast I struggled to get a photo of them!! A big thank you to the Student Council who organised and ran it all!!
